Experienced Accountants

We are in an enviable position where we are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team of 30, based in our modern offices in Vogel Street, Dunedin.

CEG Limited pride themselves on their strong relationships in the agribusiness, SME & commercial industries across the South Island. We boast a strong record of developing staff.

You are not expected to work overtime & there is an excellent balance between socialness & performance across our team.

Personality fit is just as important as technical accounting knowledge. The culture in the office is excellent & we are looking for someone who fits the values of the firm within our high performing environment.

Do you have a demonstrated senior Accountant skill set and can hit the ground running? Preparing annual financial statements, income tax returns and completing of GST, PAYE, and RWT returns including general business advice?

You will need to be CA qualified and a minimum of 3 years practical experience.

Graduate Accountant 2026

CEG is a modern, well-established accounting firm located amongst a host of upmarket businesses and café’s on Vogel Street, Dunedin. With a talented team of 30, CEG have built a large, well respected client base being approximately 50/50 commercial and agricultural providing the opportunity for you to gain broad industry knowledge.

We manage a range of clients, from avocado farmers to hairdressers, share milkers, to large multifactor property developers. 

We understand the importance of a work/life balance and offer flexibility to our staff that is hard to find elsewhere.

About the role:

You will be introduced to the world of public practice accounting through a comprehensive training plan. Starting with GST returns and moving your way towards annual financial statements, you will be provided with all the resources you need to become your best.

We will start the recruitment process early 2025 for a start date of May 2026.

What we’re looking for:

  • A recent, or soon to be, graduate of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • A positive academic transcript.
  • A team player with a drive to succeed.
  • An eagerness to learn.
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Perseverance.
  • Motivation to develop your career.
  • Knowledge of the Xero software is an advantage, but training is provided.
  • Balance, a positive people person who has the skills to evolve into an excellent accountant.
