Simon Cameron

Principal - BCom, CA, CPP

Simon is one of the founding Principals of CEG (formerly Cameron & Edwards Limited).

Simon’s rural upbringing and interest in the agricultural sector, combined with his commercial experience, in both London and Dunedin, brings a strong business skill set to the firm. He manages annual accounting and taxation services provided by CEG and the team. Simon provides expert advice to small and medium sized commercial and agricultural businesses. This includes providing professional advice on business planning, budgeting and supporting businesses to become more profitable in often challenging environments.

Simon has extensive experience working with clients on succession planning and enjoys the additional challenges that succession planning in the rural sector presents.

Justin Geddes

Principal - BCom, CA, CPP

Justin joined CEG as a Principal in 2016 with over 20 years’ experience working in Chartered Accounting firms.

Justin is well known for building relationships with his clients while using his practical and commercial approach to help them achieve their goals. Growing up on the family farm has allowed him to gain valuable knowledge that has led to Justin being one of the leading agribusiness advisors in the wider Otago region, but his breadth of skills means he is just as comfortable using his knowledge with commercial clients to assist with their needs.

Justin offers valuable insights to clients on their business from simple annual accounting and taxation services through to more complex business restructuring, succession planning and business development.

Tony Marshall

Principal – BCom, LLB, Dip Grad, FCA, CPP

Tony joined CEG as a Principal in 2020 and is our in-house tax expert with over 20 years’ experience working in Chartered Accountancy firms as a specialist tax advisor.  As a chartered accountant Tony also provides general accounting and business advisory advice to CEG clients.

Whilst Tony is well known throughout New Zealand for his work as a tax advisor to the rural sector, including over 10 years providing training to accountants and lawyers on tax issues, he is well versed in all technical tax issues, and has specialist expertise in property transactions, GST, and overseas tax issues, particularly for new migrants.

Tony also understands the practical challenges facing farming and small businesses from his personal experience.  Tony is sought after to provide advice on succession planning, business structures, Inland Revenue Department disputes and all manner of tax advice. Tony also has experience as an expert witness for relationship property disputes.

Tony is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand Rural Sector Committee, which advocates for the rural sector on a wide variety of issues on behalf of its members.  Tony is one of the authors of the Farming, Forestry and Fishing Tax Guide published by Wolters Kluwer and New Zealand Taxation published by Thomson Reuters.

Jackie Teasdale

Consultant - BCom, CA, CPP

Jackie started her career working for one of ‘the Big Four’ firms and built up great experience specialising in strategic financial consulting. Growing from this, Jackie worked as a Group Accountant and an outsourced CFO for more than six years managing finance teams across NZ and Australia.

Jackie joined CEG as a Consultant bringing her expansive range of skills to the firm. She has worked with several mid-tier companies, stepping in as a senior resource to support and facilitate monthly reporting and working with the Board of Directors to help improve business profitability.

Having owned her own retail business for a number of years combined with her corporate knowledge, Jackie likes to work with firms dealing with mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, valuations and stream lining of internal systems.

Suzanne Rietveld

Associate - BBS, DipBusStuds, CA

Suzanne joined CEG in April 2013, and brings a vast range of knowledge and experience to CEG Limited. As a Chartered Accountant Suzanne's focus is on supporting the Principals and her client needs.

Providing expert advice in an organised approach results in cost effective and quality solutions for her clients. Suzanne provides accounting, taxation and business advisory expertise to a vast range of clients across the agricultural and commercial sectors, and has a particular interest is helping ‘non-accountants’ understand the technicalities of accountancy.

Suzanne enjoys working closely with clients to help their businesses thrive.

Amy-Jane (AJ) Dowding

Manager – BCom, DipGrad, CA

AJ joined the CEG team having gained experience at a previous accounting firm as well as a Financial Analyst for a large public sector entity. 

As a Chartered Accountant, AJ brings a wealth of skills from these public and private sector roles and has special interests in both the Health and Agricultural industries.  AJ works closely with the Principals to ensure her client requirements are effectively managed and especially enjoys working on complex matters, such as succession planning, business restructures and tax planning.

Away from work, AJ is married with two children and is actively involved in various community organisations.

Susan Staples

Manager – BCompt, CertBusStuds, CA

Susan joined CEG in June 2021. Originally from South Africa, she immigrated to New Zealand in 2015 where she has worked as a Manager in mid-tier accounting firms in Auckland, while gaining her Chartered Accountants qualification.

 Susan has experience in business advisory, financial accounting and taxation and is a Xero Certified Advisor. She has a particular interest in assisting her clients with the set up and efficient implementation of Xero as well as Xero training. 

Outside of the office, Susan enjoys spending time with family, reading and travelling.

Jennifer Hodgson

Manager – BBS MSc, CA

Jen’s accounting career started in the North Island before relocating to Dunedin where she obtained her chartered accountancy and gained over 10 years’ experience before joining CEG in 2021.

Offering experience in business advisory, financial accounting, and taxation, Jen has particular interest in the commercial sector and enjoys building relationships with her clients and understanding how they operate their businesses.

Jen works with the Principals and management team applying her experience and approach to ensuring her clients’ needs are met.

Jess Newall

Manager - BCom, GradDip, CA

Jess joined CEG and the management team in 2023 following her auditing career at one of ‘the big four’ and a business management role in the Education sector.  

As a Chartered Accountant, Jess brings a wealth of knowledge from both the Commercial and Education sector and has extensive experience in the reporting compliance and control environment.

Providing business advisory services specialising in the commercial sector, Jess enjoys working closely with clients and is passionate about providing efficient and effective outcomes to ensure the success of the client’s business.

Liam Geddes

Assistant Manager, BCom, CA

Liam joined CEG as an accountant in 2016 after graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Commerce. 
Liam completed his Chartered Accountant qualification in 2021 with a highlight being a certificate of Merit for placing in the top 5% of the final capstone exam.

Now working as an Assistant Manager Liam supports the management team and Principals with client needs in both Commercial and Agriculture. 
Liam ensures the processes and efficiencies align with the services CEG provide, applying his technical knowledge and approach to training, to the benefit of our clients.

Jo joined the CEG team in 2022 looking for a new challenge following a career in the health sector.
